Packed with the new THX-developed technology, the Razer Mako 2.1 is an impressive computer speaker system said to disperse sound more evenly throughout a room. At $400, the Razer Mako could be a good buy.
The Good: Intriguing design. Very powerful output. Booming low end. Excellent clarity without distortion at high volumes. Multiple inputs—including one on controller.
The Bad: Very expensive. Wired controller can be slow and unresponsive. Limited listening “sweet spot.”
The Bottomline: Razer’s Mako 2.1 computer speaker system was co-designed with THX, featuring technology that uses desktop surfaces to disperse sound. The result is impressive power and clear, pleasing audio.
Price: Starting $399.
