Garmin’s big-screened nüvi 5000 is designed specifically to meet the needs of drivers of large vehicles, such as trucks. PCMAG just reviewed this GPS device, ideal for those with big rigs and big dashboards.

The good: Large, auto-dimming screen. Multisegment routing. Text-to-speech conversion. Video input for a backup camera.

The bad: Lacks Bluetooth phone interface, integrated traffic receiver. No battery.

The bottom line: This new navigator from Garmin boasts a sprawling 5.2-inch widescreen display. But you’ll pay a premium for it, and give up some other key features as well.
