Magellan RoadMate 1430 Review: Interesting price, some functions sluggish

Magellan-RoadMate-1430GPS maker Magellan’s RoadMate products are priced for the budget shopper. They look good too and they’re also much easier to use as compared to the older models.

The Good: Multisegment routing. Live traffic information. Intuitive interface. Traffic receiver integrated into the case.

The Bad: Some functions are sluggish. Occasional unexplained route recalculations.

The Bottomline: The RoadMate 1430 has features similar to those of Magellan’s luxury Maestro models. As the company’s least expensive widescreen GPS model to offer live traffic, it’s a pretty good deal.

Price: Starting at $296.
